Almond croissants, bad and good

I had such a cloyingly sweet, stale almond croissant at Espresso Royal Caffe on Comm. Ave. last night that I couldn't even finish it, which is saying a lot because I was ravenous. All I could think about were the twice-baked almond croissants of my dreams at the delightful Bread and Butter Bakery in JP. Next time, I'll try to stay hungry until I can get the real thing.
