Hungry for information

On Wednesday, I did an online chat about restaurants on Boston.com. It's always intriguing to find out what people really want to know. If you read the food mags, you'd think that restaurant-goers are interested only in the chic, the celebrity, the expensive places.

But it turns out that what they want to know is where to eat on the Melrose-Stoneham line. Or what's open on Christmas Day. Or where a 16-year-old can go after a semi-formal that is nice, cheap, and north of the city.

In other words, practical tips on bargains, good food for cheap, or at least for reasonable. I hope I helped. Now I've got to go brush up on the Cheap Eats reviews for my next chat in a couple of weeks.
