The review is in

In a post yesterday, I linked to this entry on the blog Eater. It was written by New York restaurateur David Chang, who was anticipating Frank Bruni's review of his latest restaurant, Momofuku Ssam Bar, in The New York Times. It made the reader feel what it's like to be a chef awaiting the verdict, and Chang's predictions of how he'd react to each possible star rating were pretty funny.

The review came out today. Bruni gave Ssam Bar two stars, which Chang had said "would be a reach." He was betting on one. According to his predictions, here's what's happening at Ssam Bar now:

"If it’s a good two-star, expect to see amazing acts of drunken buffoonery on Tuesday night. Wednesday will not be the best time to eat at either Momofuku as both kitchen crews will be nursing major hangovers. Major."

Thank goodness it wasn't no stars. In that case, Chang had said: "I would try crack, black tar heroin and crystal meth for the first time, possibly all three at once. Anything that would take me to a happy place. After rehab, I’d get my GED and start working for the man."

The restaurant business is a rough one.
