Revenge is a dish best served in html

angrychef.jpg

In February, New York Times restaurant critic Frank Bruni's smackdown of Kobe Club provoked restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow to retaliate. He went old-school with a full-page Times ad givin' it back to Bruni for his "vitriolic comments" and background writing about politics. And then he went new-school by launching his very own blog in protest. You can find it here. (Since its initial outraged postings, however, its interest level has plummeted.)

Now, the Washington Post reports, Roberto Donna, of Bebo Trattoria in Arlington, Va., also plans to start a blog, incensed by the scribblings of Washingtonian magazine dining editor Todd Kliman. See, Kliman didn't like Bebo overmuch. And Donna says Kliman got his facts all wrong. Why whine privately when you can do it on the Internets?

One more miffed proprietor and we can call the restaurateur-strikes-back blog a trend. Any takers, Boston chefs? Stay tuned.
