A winning combination

IMG_0254.jpg

Boston has gone crazy for the Red Sox’ Japanese phenom pitcher, Daisuke Matsuzaka, and I can’t think of a better way to toast Dice-K when he wins a game than with Hitachino Red Rice Ale, a pretty phenomenal Japanese beer. It really is brewed with red rice, which makes it a cooler, more interesting cousin of American lagers like Bud. It has a pretty, reddish gold color, a bright, slightly tart flavor with a little bit of malt sweetness, and a really clean finish. It’s a perfect drink for a warm evening after a three-game sweep of the Yankees.
