« Caffeine overload | Main | Tea time » Wednesday, April 18, 2007Mexican at lastAll the while I've reviewed restaurants, I've bemoaned the dearth of good Mexican places in Boston. Although there are several -- the Forest Cafe in Cambridge, Tu y Yo in Somerville -- that doesn't fill the appetite. So just when I'm about to leave my post, Ken Oringer of Clio and Toro, and partners, open up La Verdad on Lansdowne Street. This crew isn't Mexican and Lansdowne is an unusual location and pretty hard to get to during Sox season. But let me tell you, these pork tacos are worth it. While we were eating them, women in the kitchen were handmaking more corn tortillas. Then for dessert, chef John Delpha brought over mango slices sprinkled with chili powder and lime. I'll be back, job or no. Posted by Alison Arnett at 04:10 PM
