What to bake first? Croissants to eat with my apricot jam? It's only 90 million degrees in my apartment -- perfect for baking. The question is, will I be able to reproduce Tartine's deliciousness in my own kitchen? That croissant recipe looks like it takes a million hours. There are those cookbooks that become everyday standbys (sometimes where you least expect it), and those that become eye candy, cracked more for inspiration than for use.
