Battle of the thin crusts

Battle of the thin crusts
Pizza, the unofficial sixth food group of college students everywhere, has finally graduated from greasy to grown-up.

Blame Dr. Atkins, or blame Paris Hilton. Either way, there's no denying that the campus favorite has gone healthy and upscale. The trend is reflected in Boston's burgeoning cluster of thin-crust pizzerias. These pies are not the slick-with-grease-and-pepperoni platters that have filled young stomachs and clogged arteries for decades. Instead, they are stacked with once-unheard - of toppings such as shrimp, free-range eggs, and Gouda (fortunately not all on the same pizza).

With students now back on campus, we decided it was time to sort out the city's thin-crust pizza wars with a by-no-means-complete chart and a highly subjective rating system. Sadly, you won't earn independent study credits if you compile your own pizza chart, but you will gain a spare tire and perhaps an extra chin. Eat up!
