The time is ripe for something wild
Plant forager Russ Cohen at Blue Heron Farm in Lincoln. He is snapping a twig off a spruce sapling to pull down a fruit-laden black cherry branch that's just out of his reach. Nothing like supermarket cherries, these are small and dark, some sweeter than others. At home, Cohen uses them in sorbets, jams, and jellies.
