NY Times rose $.22 or 2.7 percent, to $8.39.

News Corp rose $.25 or 1.8 percent, to $14.40.

TimeWrn rs rose $.19 or .6 percent, to $31.20.

Viacom rose $.34 or 1.1 percent, to $31.92.
