Worst - Lost in Translation

Lost in Translation
In America
Seabiscuit
The Station Agent
Kill Bill Vol. 1

Dan , Boston

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Peter , Tiburon, California

Best movie of 2003 was The Last Samurai. The story, the costumes, the music and the actors made a perfect blend that came to be the exceptional out come The Last Samurai. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you do.

Ely, Lawrence

Never saw "Gigli", but I can't imagine it was any worse the "Cat in the Hat". Without doubt the worst movie I have seen in over a decade.

John, Boston

Best: Under the Tuscan Sun

Jane , Medway

Gigli- worst film of all time, regardless of the year.

Lord of the Rings- Best film of the past 5 years.

Anna, Waltham

Master and Commander

Pat Fallon, Braintree

The Good: Lost in Translation ; American Splendor ; Spellbound; Master and Commander ; and a little itty bitty movie from out in left field that almost no one will see but really should - The Return of the King

The Bad: Matrix Reloaded

The Ugly: Matrix Revolutions

Everything else has been so bland and mediocre as to hardly warrant mention. I would, though, like to give an honorable mention to May, a film that was officially released in 2002, but didn't receive any sort of distribution until this year, and then disappeared from theaters almost immediately. An evil little hybrid that defies any attempt at classification, it's no surprise it didn't find an audience, but it's worth checking out if only for the genuinely affecting and heartrending performance by Angela Bettis as the title character. It's sort of a mash up between Carrie, Frankenstein, Donnie Darko, Dario Argento and David Lynch - gory, hilarious and absolutely traumatizing all at the same time.

Jake, Somerville, MA

The Cat In the Hat- Horrendous high-tech butchering of a wonderful children's classic. I don't remember the Cat like that, quite unfunny as a matter of fact! Worst of the Year!

Geoff , Londonderry, NH
