Best : Return of the King

Worst: Timeline

Mike, Boston

The absolute worst was "Cat in the Hat"! Mike Myers wasn't funny at ALL!

Some of the best films: Lord of the Rings, Finding Nemo, Elf and Master & Commander were all well-done.

Joanne, Natick

My pick for the year's worst movie has to be "Gangs of New York." Ugh... we left the theater before it was over. Truly awful flick. And my boyfriend liked "Adaptation," but I thought it was very overrated.

Great movies this year (IMHO) included: "Dirty Pretty Things," "Lost in Translation," and "Raising Victor Vargas." I also enjoyed "Catch Me If You Can" with Leo DiCaprio. "Down With Love" and "Love, Actually" were both cute and entertaining films. Also pleasantly surprised by "Chicago."

Sasa, Natick

best - mystic river

worst - lost in translation

ryan, boston

Worst by far: Gigli

Best: Mystic River

Julie, Franklin

Best-Pirates of the Caribbean

Worst-NO CONTEST!!! GIGLI. Jersey Girl with Bennifer is to be yet seen.

Richard Amore, Boston

The Marix: Revolutions was the biggest disappointment so it's getting my WORST vote. Huge waste of cash. Gigli I am sure was worse, however, that's why I didn't even bother to see it. The BEST by far for '03, hands down, Return of the King!!

Chris, Waltham

The best movies of the year were Lost in Translation and the Station Agent.

The worst was thankfully not seen by me, but I bet it was Gigli.

Nicole, Boston

Best Movies of the Year:
The Two Towers (i guess that was last year, though)
Lost in Translation
Madgalene Sisters
Kill Bill
Pirates of the Carribean (yay! :)

OK Movies: American Splendour
10
The Matrix: Reloaded

BAD Movies:
Underworld

Melinda Gottesman, New Orleans (by way of Brookline)

Master and Commander - Next to the Civil War, The French Revolution always remains the most interesting of all historical time periods. Even when its battles are fought off the coast of Brazil.

Andrew C, Winthrop
