Favorite spy show Matthew Gilbert writes: "Let's get real. Sure, '24' is the CIA drama that gets all the buzz, but 'Alias,' so audacious and so plastic fantastic, is really the bee's knees."It's pretty clear where Matthew's loyalties lie. Now we want to know what you think. Which spy show delivers the goods, and why do you like it so much?
Page 8 Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy With Sir Alec Guiness and a young Patrick Stewart...came out on the BBC in the 80's...check it out Jay, ATX ALIAS - far and away the best!!! Never one dull moment - and if you miss 15 minutes your'e not lost because you just pick it up again whenever you come back. A true feast of the senses! "24" has lost it this season! Too much confusion, too much happening and too many irrelenant subplots that you just can't follow, too much driving around in cars for who knows what reason, and then it grates on me that Jack Bauer has turned into a druggie and I'm supposed to remember why that happened? It just doesn't fly like it did the first 2 seasons. Frank, Cape Cod Alias totally rocks - Sydney kicks butt every week! It is so great to see a female in a strong role! Smart, physically fit, beautiful, and emotional - great package! I love it. Amy Pare, Newtown CT 24 and Alias are the only 2 shows I follow! I love them both! Catherine Wong, Brookline ALIAS ALL THE WAY!!!!!!! Alias is the best spy show on television, no question! Meril, Newburyport 24. No question. jennilee, Calgary 24!!! Without question 24 is the best show on television. Alias does not even compare. The acting is phenomenal and the writing is extraordanary, keeping you on the edge of your seat and always waiting for more. I am absolutely disgusted to see 24 portrayed in a negative light as it as been in this article, but everyone does have their own opinion and they are entitled to it. Mine is that, without question, 24 is the far superior production. Scott Buys, Boston Alias and 24 are my two favorite shows on television today; however, I'd rather miss an episode of 24 than Alias. The Globe article was correct when it said that you didn't watch the clock during Alias. I'm too busy being on the edge of my seat. I used to be like that during 24, but it has changed so drastically over the past 2 years, that I am usually doing something else in addition to watching the program. It doesn't require, or warrant, all my attention. Alias, on the other hand, is nonstop thrill. Yes, sometimes Sydney's outfits are a bit too much, and I can sometimes predict what's going to happen next, but it's still exciting. When you think you know the outcome of something, more often than not, you don't. HOWEVER, get rid of Vaughan's wife. I don't care that he has one, but I don't like the one he has. I didn't like her in Thieves, either. She's not "real". Her acting is wooden...her accent (however real) annoying...her part unbelievable. Either get him someone else to play his wife, or kill her off and let he and Sydney get it on together every once in a while. They don't have to end up together. Connie Reppucci, Burlington
