It's fun to watch, but there are some long stretches where the awards are for things I doubt anyone, outside of Hollywood, really cares about. I like to check out who is wearing what and which celebs are starting to look old.

Why can't the ego maniacs keep their fat mouths closed. The Oscars is not about the collective political agendas of morons.

Being from Massachusetts, I am happy about Mystic River winning major awards, but you gotta be miffed a Jarrod Joyce not even being nominated for his excellent work in Boat Cruise, or even the makeup guy from Monster. He made Charlize Theron unrecognizable. Maybe next year.

The trophies were given out as expected. I'm not sure I could explain why so much is made of people acting or why they end up so rich. Or even why they are considered so talented. It must be their ability to fool people. I believe Billy Crystal was excellent in his role which was most important in keeping the whole affair together.

Thank God the Oscars finally brought back Billy Crystal as host. The years since his departure have been extremely lame...Billy brings an amazing and tastful sense of humor to the show.

While the awards themselves may have been predictable, Billy made it bearable with great one liners like "it's official, the entire country of New Zealand has been thanked".

Thank you Mr. Crystal for saving us from another year of sub-standard Oscar hosting....

Holy Boring Batman. I had vowed never to watch again after The Titanic came away with all too many awards (LA Confidential was robbed), but I had hope for this year because so many talented people and excellent movies were nominated. I personally felt the last LOTR was by far the weakest and was very disappointed that the politics of Hollywood won, and some very deserving people/films lost.

The female actress from South Africa got accolades for the way she looked in her winning role, but without much of the makeup that many of the actresses use when they appear in public, that appearance may really be very common, but we wouldn't know it.

Really predictable and quite boring. Could have used a little more polarizing politics to liven it up.
