It will be a while before New England beaches beckon, but in the meantime aquatic fun abounds at several indoor water parks. Some require that you stay overnight at the host resort, while others offer a limited number of day passes (but these can be very limited or nonexistent during school vacation weeks). Here are some options for April vacation fun in the water.
CoCo Key has three New England locations, in Danvers and Fitchburg, and Waterbury, Conn. The Danvers park, located at the DoubleTree by Hilton, is a 65,000-square-foot tropical retreat with cozy cabanas, thatched-roofed huts, and water rides for all ages. Thrill seekers (who are also over 48 inches tall) will enjoy the Shark Slam, Gator Gus, Barracuda Blast, and Pelican Plunge water slides. Smaller visitors can head to the Dip-In Theater, with a zero-depth entry pool, kiddie slides, and water spouts and buckets. Day trippers are welcome, but all day passes ($20-$45) must be reserved online. The Ultimate Water Park Package ($289) includes an overnight stay with access to the Water Park for up to four people from 4 p.m. on the day of arrival until 4 p.m. on the day of departure, two $20 arcade cards, and breakfast for four. 50 Ferncroft Road, Danvers, 978-777-2500, www.cocokeyboston.com
