It may worth a trek to the Vineyard tonight, because the Katharine Cornell Theatre continues its November film series with a 7:30 screening of "Away From Her," the Julie Christie movie that follows a couple coping with Alzheimer's. The movie is buzz-worthy because it was directed by actress Sarah Polley, who is about 30 years younger than the film's stars. Tickets: $8. Katharine Cornell Theatre, 54 Spring Street, Vineyard Haven, 508-696-9369. mvfilmsociety.com.

Fashion
District, a nightclub, opens its doors this afternoon for a fashion show from 1 to 4. The event features clothes by Payal Singhal, a designer from India, whose wares are a colorful mix of traditional and modern styles. The afternoon includes a sale of Singhal's holiday gift items, and because the event is called "Sip & Shop," there will also be drink specials. District, 180 Lincoln St., 781-962-6217. payalsinghal.com

Rock
If Allman Brothers covers aren't your thing, there is more tribute action at the Middle East Downstairs. Monsters of Mock II, an evening of imitators, includes music by Backsteat Lover, which covers Pearl Jam, and PISS, which covers KISS. In case you were wondering, PISS stands for "Punks in Service to Satan," as opposed to KISS, which stands for "Knights in Service to Satan." It starts at 8. Tickets: $12. Middle East Downstairs, 480 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, 617-864-3278. mideastclub.com

Rock
At Jake's Dixie Roadhouse in Waltham tonight, it's the Peacheaters: an Allman Brothers Experience, a cover band (below) that plays three decades of Allman music. The band is calling tonight's show a birthday celebration - Duane Allman would have been 61 tomorrow. You can check out the band's set lists at peacheaters.com. The show starts at 10. Jake's Dixie Roadhouse, 220 Moody St., Waltham, 781-894-4227. jakes-bbq.com

Sports
The Lowell Devils, the minor league affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, is offering up a freebie for the first 1,500 fans who show up to tonight's game against the Hartford Wolf Pack, - and it is not a bobblehead. It is, in fact, a Devils knit hat. The game starts at 7:05. Tickets: $8 to $18. Tsongas Arena, 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Lowell. 978-458-7825. lowelldevilshockey.com
