As you navigate your way between holidays, celebrate 2007's end with some artistic veterans. Age may be only a number, but experience never hurts.

THURSDAY Catch-22 These ska punk veterans are known for their relentless touring and high-energy performances. This show will likely live up to the band's rep. See them with fellow ska punk capers Westbound Train, In The Face, and 4th Floor Bandits. All ages. $12 in advance, $15 at the door. 7 p.m. Harpers Ferry. 158 Brighton Ave. 617-254-9743. harpersferryboston.com.

FRIDAY The Gravel Pit Back in 2001, Boston-based Gravel Pit broke through when rap-rock ruled the airwaves. Though its Cheap Trick-like power pop never fully took off, fans of Fountains of Wayne should feel right at home. Jules Verdone, the Douglas Fir, Baker, and Francine open the show. 18+ $15. First act starts at 9:10 p.m. T.T. the Bear's Place. 10 Brookline St. 617-492-2327. ttthebears.com.

SATURDAY Dresden Dolls Long before Panic! At the Disco pushed punk cabaret into the Top 40, the Dolls were fine-tuning their own brand of musical theater. This duo blends pop, rock, and burlesque influences into its colorful live shows. See them with openers Meow Meow and Luminescent Orchestrii. All ages. $25. 7:30 p.m. Orpheum Theatre. 1 Hamilton Place. 617-482-0650. ticketmaster.com

SUNDAY Blade Runner The movie is iconic not only for its story but also for its visceral filmmaking. This screening shows a restored version in honor of the film's 25th anniversary. See Harrison Ford and director Ridley Scott at their most primal. All ages. $9.50. 7:30 and 10 p.m. Brattle Theatre. 40 Brattle St. Harvard Square. 617-876-6837. brattlefilm.org.

"The Night Is Young" runs every Thursday. To submit event listings for all ages or 18-plus, e-mail Elisabeth Donnelly at elisabethdonnelly @yahoo.com
