A fine Finney

Email|Print| Text size + By Meredith Goldstein
Globe Staff / January 3, 2008

Albert Finney, who you can now see in the Philip Seymour Hoffman film "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," got his big break more than four decades ago when he hit the big screen in "Tom Jones", an Oscar-winning British comedy about a young man who is quite popular with women. Who knew then that the heartthrob actor would grow up to play Daddy Warbucks? Yes, that also was Finney in "Annie." You can see him in his younger days when the Boston Public Library screens "Tom Jones" this afternoon. 2 p.m. Free. Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston St., 617-536-5400. bpl.org
