Today, a teacher and her longtime student team up to show their works as part of the "Chicks Make Flicks" series at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Animator Yvonne Andersen, known for leading film workshops in the 1960s and teaching animation at the Rhode Island School of Design, will show a few of her short animated films. Joining her will be Amy Kravitz, who began studying with Andersen when she was 11 and now has her mentor's old job at RISD. Works include Kravitz's abstract animation "Roost." 7 p.m. Free.
