The trick to emulating the style of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, or Charlotte - at least according to Glamour's executive fashion editor-at-large Suze Yalof Schwartz - is not to slavishly copy their tutus and slinky evening dresses. Instead, she suggests dressing in the spirit of the show and the movie. "You should think about taking it up a notch everyday," says Yalof Schwartz. "Dress like you're an extra in the movie. And never do things like wear track suits to brunch. You know they wouldn't be caught dead in them." Following her advice, we pulled together looks that are inspired by the lavish style of "Sex and the City" from local stores, while avoiding track suits at all costs. - CHRISTOPHER MUTHER
