Independent film festivals are not the only action around town this week. Other events of note:

Abderrahmane Sissako. The Harvard Film Archive presents "An Evening with Abderrahmane Sissako" tomorrow at 7 p.m. Sissako is an African filmmaker who will screen his award-winning 2006 film, "Bamako." Afterward, he will discuss the film and take questions from the audience. 617-495-4700, www.hcl.harvard.edu/hfa. An Evening with Susan Gray. Women in Film & Video/New England presents the documentary "Killer Poet" by filmmaker Susan Gray on April 23. Presented in association with MIT's Women's & Gender Studies Program, the Chicks Make Flicks series will be held on campus and will include a question-and-answer session with the filmmaker. 617-987-0259, www.mit.edu.
