MY COUSIN VINNY
(Encore on Comcast) By-the-numbers stuff as wise-guy-out-of-water Joe Pesci, who only just passed the bar exam in Brooklyn, pulls into Alabama to defend his cousin and a college pal from a murder frame-up. Marisa Tomei, an adorable and invigorating presence as Pesci’s smart, spunky fiancee, is the one who makes it worth sitting through. (Unrated; runs through Nov. 26)

MY LIFE
(Encore on Comcast) Yes, it could have been messier, a bit less pat - but this tale of a PR hotshot who learns he has cancer is nonetheless compelling. Some of the credit goes to the writing and direction by Bruce Joel Rubin (who also danced with death in the scripts for “Ghost’’ and “Jacob’s Ladder’’). But most belongs to Michael Keaton, who supplies the emotional rawness in his portrayal of a baby boomer facing the Big Sleep. (PG-13; runs through Nov. 26)

OH GOD
(Encore on Comcast) Carl Reiner, who directed this film, posits George Burns as God. He materializes on earth in a yachting cap and blazer and makes life difficult for John Denver, a supermarket manager. Although the conceit is incredible, Reiner brings it all off handsomely, mostly because of Burns. (PG; runs through Nov. 26)
