The "Passiondex" lives!

When that new regime took over at the Village Voice, I was afraid some things wouldn’t survive. But J. Hoberman is thriving – or at least his film criticism is – and as of today so is the annual film poll. It’s at indieWIRE now, and while it’s not the visual marvel that the Voice’s old “Take” polls became, its change of address has done nothing to alter its excitement of its content. Dennis Lim, Anthony Kaufman, and Ben Kenigsberg conducted the poll, and Dennis explains it all, including the vaunted nerdometer known as the Passiondex. There are links to individual critics’ ballots and the many categories, including mine. Oh, and the best film winner is Cristi Puiu’s “The Death of Mr. Lazarescu.”
