Sundance, day nine: And the winners are...
Wow. "Grace is Gone" won both the audience award for dramatic film and the screenwriting award -- impressive for a heart-wrencher that had cynics crying manipulative foul. "Manda Bala," the demented and effective documentary about Brazilian corruption won the grand jury prize for documentary and the cinematography award. And the grand jury prize for dramatic film surprisingly went to "Padre Nuestro," Christopher Zalla's almost Biblical tale of impersonation and despair, set among Mexican illegals in New York.
A full list of winners is here. Best part of the ceremonies was when "Teeth" star Jess Weixler thanked all those "who helped me give vagina dentata a heart."
