Save the Brattle; search the Internet

Posted by Ty Burr February 28, 2008 02:12 PM

Reader Matt Hoover alerts me to a nifty site called Goodsearch, which allows you to earmark funds for charities and institutions whenever you search the web. The is either a brilliant idea or the next wrinkle thought up by Nigerian spam-scammers. (I'm kidding; it's a brilliant idea: here's more info.)

So the interesting thing is that the Brattle is one of the listed institutions and Matt was kind enough to send me the link to the theater's Goodsearch page. Which means if you have trouble getting to Harvard Square but still want to support the venerable art-house, here's a way to kick in a few pennies. You don't have to search for "Casablanca" or "El Topo," but maybe that'd be a fun way to start.
