Weekend box office recap: 'Avengers' stays on top
"Marvels' The Avengers," Disney’s powerhouse superhero movie, remained No. 1 this weekend, earning $55.1 million domestically. The film, which opened three weeks ago, has grossed $457 million since its US release. It's approaching the $1.2 billion mark worldwide and $723.3 million internationally.
Here's a look at the top five films at the box office this weekend:

3. The Dictator: $17.4M
4. Dark Shadows: $12.8M
5. What to Expect When You're Expecting: $10.5M
