bryan-cranston-400.jpg"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston is rumored to have snagged a role in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel as Superman's super villain Lex Luthor. Rolling Stone and E! News both cite Cosmic Book News as the primary source of the rumor that puts the 57-year-old-actor opposite Ben Affleck's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman in the upcoming Warner Bros. film.

The source exclusively reports Cranston's deal could have him in "what is said to be at least a six 'appearance' deal (think of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury popping up in every Marvel movie in the run-up to 'Avengers') and may be as high as ten."

No confirmation from Cranston's camp just yet but the source says an "official announcement to follow the conclusion to the final season of 'Breaking Bad' as [Warner Bros.] wants to dovetail off the end of that." The final episode of "Breaking Bad" will air Sept. 29 on AMC.

Affleck was confirmed to play Batman just last week in Zack Snyder's yet-to-be-titled project. In addition to Cavill reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, actors Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane will rejoin the cast for the flick that is expected to hit theaters in 2015.
