The Meanies of Life: TV and film bullies we love to hate

'A Christmas Story'

Grover Dill

(Yayo Anaya, not pictured) in "A Christmas Story"
Distinguishing marks: Yellow eyes ("So help me God, yellow eyes!")
Weapons of choice: Intimidation, fists when necessary
Why he's here: Because he stands in for every schoolyard bully we ever had to face down — and did, while torrents of four-letter words poured from our mouths. The movie does Dill right, but Jean Shepherd's original story does him better.
Bully rating: Three fists
