In "Notes on a Scandal" (2006), Blanchett starred with Judi Dench, who has also played Queen Elizabeth I in an Academy Award-nominated film ("Shakespeare in Love"). Blanchett plays Sheba, an art teacher at a London school, who finds herself in several dangerous relationships. One is with a 15-year-old student. Another is with the obsessive, lonely Barbara (Dench) who sees the student — and everyone else in Sheba's life — as competition for Sheba's affections.
