Blanchett's first big film break was in "Oscar and Lucinda" (1997), about an Anglican priest, Oscar (Ralph Fiennes), who meets an Australian heiress, Lucinda (Blanchett), on a ship to Australia. The two both have a gambling obsession, and Lucinda bets Oscar he can't transport a glass church to the Outback in one piece.
