In "The Missing" (2003), Blanchett plays a single mother on the 1885 frontier who reunites with her estranged father (Tommy Lee Jones) when her oldest daughter (Evan Rachel Wood) is kidnapped. They attempt to find her before she is sold into prostitution by Native American slave traders.
