My name is Bond, James Bond...

Actor Timothy Dalton replaced an aging Roger Moore in the release of 1987's "The Living Daylights." Dalton's James Bond was originally supposed to be played by Pierce Brosnan, but NBC renewed his contract for a fifth season of "Remington Steele" and Brosnan was out, at least for a while. Dalton signaled a return to a more rough and tough Bond style. However, public reaction to Dalton as Bond was somewhat mixed. Dalton's only other Bond film was "Licence to Kill" (1989). Dalton left the role prior to his third film, which was scheduled to be shot then released in 1991.
