James Dean

At the time of James Dean's death (he was killed in a car accident in 1955), the screen icon had two films already completed. "Rebel Without a Cause" was released one month later and "Giant" (left) hit theaters 13 months after the actor's death. Dean was nominated for two posthumous leading actor Oscars, for "East of Eden" and "Giant."
