Judd Apatow’s new dramedy, the first he’s directed since ‘‘Knocked Up,’’ concerns a popular standup comedian (Adam Sandler), his adoring protégé (Seth Rogen), his deadly cancer scare, and what happens to his outlook after it goes into remission. With Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, and, Apatow’s wife and not-so-secret weapon, Leslie Mann. It’s wrong to say this sounds like ‘‘Beaches’’ for boys, right?
