‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’
“Beasts of the Southern Wild” director Benh Zeitlin (pictured) grew up in New York, but chose to go to Connecticut after high school, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Wesleyan University. “Beasts” is up for four awards, including a Best Director nomination for Zeitlin and a Best Actress nomination for Quvenzhané Wallis. The nine-year-old is the youngest Academy Award nominee, ever.
