Michelle Branch Cancels 10 Shows

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Singer/songwriter Michelle Branch has been forced to lighten her current tour schedule, according to her official Web site (http://www.michellebranch.com).

Under doctors' orders, she will drop 10 North American shows, beginning Monday in Vancouver and running through Dec. 16 in New Orleans.

However, Branch will stay on the road, picking things up Friday (Nov. 21) in San Francisco. She will then play nine shows through a Dec. 15 gig in Tampa, Fla. Among them are radio-station sponsored holiday shows in Kansas City, Mo.; New York; Las Vegas; San Diego; Seattle; Atlanta; and Miami.

Branch is touring in support of her sophomore Maverick album, "Hotel Paper," which debuted in July at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 700,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

On Nov. 25, Maverick will release a commercial single of the "Hotel Paper" track "Breathe," backed with seven remixes by the likes of Chris Cox, Dave Hernandez and Hi Bias. The tracks are already available for purchase from various digital download services.
