Handel and Haydn Society

The British conductor Harry Christophers (above), founder of the excellent chorus The Sixteen, is in town to lead H&H's annual rendition of "Messiah" this weekend. Today's performance is the last of three. At 3 p.m. in Symphony Hall. 617-266-3605, handelandhaydn .org.

Dmitri Hvorostovsky

The high-powered Siberian baritone comes to Symphony Hall with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra led by Constantine Orbelian. The first half of the program features little known Russian arias and selections from two operas through which he has made his name: Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" and "Queen of Spades." The second half dips into the 20th-century popular Russian song repertoire. Tuesday at 8 p.m. 888-266-1200, bostonsymphonyhall .com.
