The Tim Peck Trio

Email|Print| Text size +
December 10, 2007

The Tim Peck Trio returns to the Lily Pad tonight for a one-off gig after its summer residency, which ended in August. Connecticut resident Peck leads the trio with his elegant, melodic piano playing, which should be pleasing to fans of classic Dave Brubeck or of frequent Pat Metheny collaborator Brad Mehldau. The band's debut album, "Ms. Matched," is a heady mix of jazz and rock, with the piano/bass/drums sound occasionally augmented by breathy saxophones or '70s-style prog-rock keyboards, complete with swooping pitch wheel. 7 p.m. $10 suggested donation. Lily Pad, 1353 Cambridge St., Cambridge. 617-395-1393. lily-pad.com
