Celebrities may have little sway when it comes to recruiting voters, but inquiring minds want to know who's zooming who. Among the musician endorsements in the 2008 presidential campaign, a few are no-brainers. DONNY and MARIE OSMOND support fellow Mormon Mitt Romney. Hunting enthusiast TED NUGENT is shilling for Second Amendment enthusiast Mike Huckabee. Leftist rabble-rousers WILLIE NELSON and ANI DIFRANCO are behind like-minded candidate Dennis Kucinich, while uber-conservative JOHN RICH of country duo BIG & RICH is throwing his weight behind Fred Thompson. Hillary Clinton has drawn a bevy of female supporters, including MADONNA, BARBRA STREISAND, CARLY SIMON, JANET JACKSON, KATHARINE MCPHEE, and CAROLE KING, as well as TONY BENNETT, QUINCY JONES, and ELVIS COSTELLO (who sang "Happy Birthday, Mrs. President" at Clinton's 60th birthday bash in October). Veteran musical politicos BONNIE RAITT, JACKSON BROWNE, and JOHN MELLENCAMP (along with HARRY BELAFONTE) have hitched their wagons to the John Edwards train, while WILL SMITH, JAMIE FOXX, and BRUCE HORNSBY have voiced their support for Barack Obama.![]()
