Tales of the 'Heart'

Email|Print| Text size +
January 21, 2008

Diane Edgecomb has spent seven years traveling all around Turkey gathering traditional Kurdish fairy tales, animal fables, and hero tales like that of Shahmaran, a half snake, half woman. Her book, "A Fire in My Heart: Kurdish Tales," is the first comprehensive collection of those stories to be published in English. Tonight at Club Passim, she'll present those tales as part of the Storylab series accompanied by Kurdish musician Andrew Mazlum Aytac on saz (a long-necked lute like instrument) and Tom Megan on percussion. 8 p.m. $10. Club Passim, 47 Palmer St., Cambridge. 617-492-5300. clubpassim.com
