A kick in the brass

Email|Print| Text size + By Nick A. Zaino III
Globe Correspondent / February 4, 2008

Boston's Triton Brass will play three pieces tonight at the Boston Conservatory - Lachlan M. Fife's "Ambivalent Symbiont," Jan Bach's "Laudes," and Lansing McLoskey's "The Maddening Crowd." That represents only a small fraction of the quintet's repertoire. The members knows their musical history because they teach it, including a six-year residency as performers and instructors at Boston College. They've also been branching out of Boston recently, making their New York debut as featured artists at last year's New York Brass Conference. 8 p.m. Free. Boston Conservatory, Seully Hall, 8 The Fenway, Boston. 617-912-9240. bostonconservatory.edu
