Robots vs. zombies

Email|Print| Text size +
February 5, 2008

Last year, local rock band School For Robots took part in a contest to write and record an album in 28 days. The band members, fans of zombie films like "Night of the Living Dead," named the resulting rock opera "Zombi Gras." It's a Frank Zappa-, Tom Waits- and Kinks-influenced record, says bassist Seth Adams, about a zombie attack. Sounds scary (not the zombies - those influences!). The Robots perform the album live for the first time tonight as part of a benefit for New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. 18+ 8:30 p.m. $12. Middle East Upstairs, 480 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge. 617-864-3278. mideastclub.com [Luke O'Neil]
