Grunge lives on

Email|Print|Single Page| Text size + By Nick A. Zaino III
Globe Correspondent / June 6, 2008

Mudhoney is the forgotten band in the grunge explosion. The band's first single, "Touch Me, I'm Sick," helped bring legendary label Sub Pop to national attention (and was later rerecorded for the movie "Singles"), and also helped to warp the impressionable minds of emerging fellow Seattle musicians like Kurt Cobain. Mudhoney is back and grungier than ever with a new album, "The Lucky Ones," released last month on Sub Pop. The band plays the Middle East Downstairs tonight with Pittsburgh garage rockers the Cynics and Boston's own rough and ready the Men. 18+ 8 p.m. $20. Middle East Downstairs, 480 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge. 617-864-3278. mideastclub.com
