Critic's picks - pop music

Maria Taylor and Johnathan Rice - at Paradise Rock Club, tomorrow. The ethereal-voiced singer-songwriter (one half of the dreamy duo Azure Ray) teams up on this co-headlining tour with rustic pop tunesmith (and Jenny Lewis paramour) Johnathan Rice. Skateboarding photographer-turned-troubadour Nik Freitas opens the show, which starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $14 at the door, $12 in advance at ticketmaster .com or 617-931-2000.

Dave Matthews Band - at the Comcast Center, Tuesday and Wednesday. The uber-reliable jam-rockers pull into Mansfield for a two-night stand, with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals opening Tuesday's show, and Michael Franti & Spearhead kicking off Wednesday's event. Both concerts start at 7 p.m.; tickets are $40-$75 at ticket master.com or 617-931-2000.

Grupo Fantasma - at the Museum of Fine Arts, Wednesday. Talk about range: the Austin-based Latin-funk outfit does Bonnaroo, Montreal Jazz Festival, and an opening slot with Prince without missing a beat - literally. The show is at 7:30; tickets are $25; $20 for MFA members, seniors, and students, at 617-369-3306 or mfa.org.
