Daryl Hall is going Oates-less tonight in Lowell. As a primer for the solo show, you should spend some time watching Hall's series "Live at Daryl's House" (livefromdarylshouse.com), which has the well-coiffed musician playing with famous friends such as Nick Lowe, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, and KT Tunstall, who duos with Hall on "Kiss On My List." Jen Kearney & the Lost Onion open the show. Maybe, if she's lucky, Kearney will get the chance to do some "Kiss"-ing of her own with Hall. 7:30 p.m. $30. Boarding House Park, 40 French St., Lowell, 978-264-9123. lowellsummermusic.org

ALSO TONIGHT: Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti is at the North Shore Music Theatre, Jamaica Plain hosts a First Thursdays celebration, and Kings Lanes is throwing an indoor beach barbecue.
