July 5, 2008

Composer/beat poet David Amram, who wrote two operas, was pals with Jack Kerouac, and scored "The Manchurian Candidate," is at Club Passim tonight to honor Bob and Rae Ann Donlin, who ran Club Passim for 25 years until 1994. Multi-instrumentalist Amram will be bringing along his multi-instrumentalist son, a bass player, and a drummer. Expect an eclectic mix, some talk of the best minds of Amram's generation, and memories of old Passim. 7 p.m. $20. Club Passim, 47 Palmer St., Cambridge. 617-492-7676. clubpassim.com
