July 5, 2008

If you prefer your rock without synth or salsa, you'll be better off at Church, which hosts a show tonight featuring Geezer (not to be confused with Weezer). The local blues band plays original songs inspired by Muddy Waters, Little Walter, and Jimi Hendrix. Members say they've lived through teenagers and mortgages, so their blues is real. They share the stage tonight with the Ten Foot Pole Cats and Tokyo Tramps. 8 p.m. $8. Church, 69 Kilmarnock St., Boston. 617-236-7600. churchofboston.com
