Talk about your universal appeal. Legendary drummer Roy Haynes (below) has recorded with Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and John Coltrane; he's also been featured as the DJ of Jazz Nation Radio on the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. You can see and hear the Roxbury-born Grammy-winning musician tonight and tomorrow at Scullers Jazz Club with his Fountain of Youth Band (keyboardist Martin Bejerano, sax player Jaleel Shaw, and bassist David Wong). 8 and 10 p.m. (repeats Saturday). $28, $73 dinner and show. Scullers Jazz Club, Doubletree Guest Suites-Boston, 400 Soldiers Field Road, Boston. 617-562-4111. scullersjazz.com
