BIG BAND
Bandleader and trumpeter Harry James helped start the career of a skinny guy from Hoboken, N.J. Both James and Frank Sinatra are making music in that big band in the sky, but trumpeter and bandleader Fred Radke (left) has been keeping the sound very much alive for almost 20 years. The Harry James Orchestra is at City Hall Plaza tonight playing the original band's signature tunes (hopefully they'll play "Sing, Sing, Sing"). Students from the Berklee College of Music will open the show. The Dorothy Curran Wednesday Evening Concert Series continues on Aug. 6 and 13. 7 p.m., weather permitting. Free. City Hall Plaza, Government Center. 617-635-4505. cityofboston.gov/parks![]()
