When George Michael was in town a few weeks ago, the pop star performed a cover of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good." It was a fine tribute, but we expect Nina's daughter, who goes by Simone, will sing a better version of the song tonight at Scullers. Simone, who has performed on Broadway in "Rent" and "Aida," covers a number of her mother's greatest hits on her recent album "Simone on Simone." The jazz singer sounds a bit like her mom, but she puts her own mark on songs such as "Feeling Good" and "Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair." 8 p.m. $26, $71 dinner and show. Scullers Jazz Club, 400 Soldiers Road, 617-562-4111. www.scullersjazz.com

Also tonight: Fisherman's Feast begins in the North End, and "Field of Dreams" plays at the Aquarium.
